When it comes to communicating, people are at the centre of everything I do. I can help you reach your audience through plain language, meeting accessibility needs, social media, writing for the web, and communications strategies I have supported not-for-profits, government departments, and membership organisations – and I would love to work with you.
Examples of my mahi (work)
This is ADHD

I was privileged to lead the ‘This is ADHD’ 2025 ADHD awareness campaign for ADHD New Zealand. This involved interviews for feature profiles, audio, video and image elements for social media and promotion support. It was a powerful and fulfilling project to be part of.

Storytelling
I have met so many incredible people throughout my career and been privileged to be able to help share their stories. I am a writer, but first and foremost, I’m a listener. Building trust is incredibly important to me in my working relationships. I want people to feel safe, heard, understood and happy with the end product. Here are some recent examples of work I am particularly proud of:
- Illness is part of life’s journey, not a new identity (myacp.org.nz)
- No ordinary goodbye (myacp.org.nz)
- Finding dignity and peace – a homeless man’s experience with advance care planning (myacp.org.nz)
- Creating a village to support struggling parents (adhd.org.nz)
- Finding the lost generations of women (adhd.org.nz)
Sharing your message through my own stories
I write about my own experiences with humour and honesty to help educate and inform. I’ve written about mental health, neurodivergence, menopause and many other things, in newspapers, magazines, books and blogs. If sharing my experiences in these areas will help you in your mahi (work), I would love to write for you. See below for examples from my blog: Hey Look a Squirtle! Adulting with AuDHD.
- Dude, where’s my dopamine? ADHD and menopause
- Let’s talk about that squirrel
- I love you, you exhaust me – AuDHD and peopling
- I wear a mask – of course I’m a villain! Litcrawl text and audio
- The pros and cons of spidey senses – neurodivergence in the workplace
Presentations and training
I deliver presentations on how to communicate in ways that everyone can access, regardless of ability or other constraints, and can tailor these to the type of mahi you do.
Accessibility is often considered difficult and time consuming – but there are many small, simple, and cost-effective things you can do, particularly when you build it in at the beginning of your project. I can provide you, or your organisation, with training that will enable you to take these steps yourself.
